On Sunday July 4th( the day after their Hindu Ceremony), Samanta and Mahendra continued their celebrations with a tradition Western style reception . Samanta wore a beautiful white mermaid wedding dress and Mahendra wore a very striking, dark suit. We started the day with formal portraits of the two of them at the Guildwood Inn in Scarborough.
This was such a treat for us as photographers, because it’s very rare to have a couple of hours alone with the bride and groom. It was such a stress free way to start the day.
The reception was then held at the Paradise Banquet Hall in Vaughan, which was completed with a traditional dancer and “Hunter”, a very famous Indian Chutney singer from Trinidad and Tobago!
Indian Chutney I’m told is basically an Indian version of West Indian Soca/Calypso music. I must admit in my ignorance though, I did not know who he was.
The air was thick with excitement and the vibe was truly contagious! We both had a great time!
